    Michigan Venture Capital Association (MVCA)

    A coordination point for private venture capital funds, corporate venture capital funds, private equity firms, angel investors, and entrepreneurial infrastructure participants, the Michigan Venture Capital Association (MVCA) seeks to grow and sustain a vibrant venture capital community in Michigan.

    Venture Upstart Programs

    The Venture Upstart program is administered by the Michigan Venture Capital Association to provide the following opportunities to develop talent in the state:

     - CEO Placement Program 
     Companies funded by Michigan’s venture capitalists who need to attract an experienced CEO are provided resources for search and relocation.
     - Executive in Residence Program 
     The EIR Program provides experienced entrepreneurs seeking their next business venture with an opportunity to provide experienced management counsel to the venture firm’s current portfolio companies. 
     - Venture Fellows Program
     This 18-24 month program will allow up to 10 fellows in a three year period to be hired at the venture capital firms in Michigan to create opportunities for emerging leaders who want to stay or move back to Michigan to seek careers in venture capital.

    Small Business Technology Development Center Tech Team (SBTDC)

    The experienced SBTDC technology business counselors provide early stage technology companies no-cost business consulting, which includes technology roadmapping, strategic planning assistance, business introductions, investor pitch coaching, business plan review, and SBIR/STTR application review. Last year the SBTDC Tech Team worked with more than 300 companies, resulting in over $69 million in capital formation.

    Tech Transfer Talent Network

    The Michigan Tech Transfer Talent Network (TSN) connects successful private sector business people to be mentors, technical experts, or management team members with budding tech transfer companies to provide advice and guidance through the commercialization process.

     - Includes U of M, MTU, WSU, MSU, Automation Alley, WMU, and GVSU  
     - The program involves a:
      • Mentor-in-Residence program  
      • Tech Transfer Fellows program  
      • Post-Doc Fellows program  
     - Talent recruitment events are available to facilitate connections
