Community Connect Grant Program
The provision of broadband transmission service is vital to the economic development, education, health, and safety of rural Americans. The purpose of the Community Connect Grant Program is to provide financial assistance in the form of grants to eligible applicants that will provide currently unserved areas, on a “community-oriented connectivity” basis, with broadband service that fosters economic growth and delivers enhanced educational, health care, and public safety services.
Energy Department Announces Technical Assistance Opportunity for Tribal Clean Energy Deployment
Through START, Department of Energy and National Laboratory experts will work directly with community-based project teams to evaluate financial and technical feasibility and provide early development technical assistance to get these projects better positioned for financing and construction. This initiative complements the Department of Energy Office of Indian Energy’s efforts to make reliable and technical information and training available to Tribal communities throughout the United States.
SunShot Incubator Program
The DOE SunShot Initiative aims to reduce the installed costs of solar energy systems by 75% by the end of the decade, achieving grid parity for subsidy-free solar energy. SunShot drives American innovation through advanced research and development, strengthening domestic manufacturing and cutting-edge technology. If successful, the SunShot Initiative will ensure solar energy is a viable and economic source for the nation's power needs and will significantly contribute to U.S. prosperity in the 21st century.
Rural Business Enterprise Grants (RBEG) Program
The RBEG program provides grants for rural projects that finance and facilitate development of small and emerging rural businesses, help fund distance learning networks, and help fund employment related adult education programs. To assist with business development, RBEGs may fund a broad array of activities.
