The Michigan Next Great Companies Movement strategic plan includes seven strategic initiatives. Each of the initiatives was launched to help build the network of resources and opportunities available to Michigan business establish and develop great places to work:
Web Resources
Online resources offering a wealth of information connected to establishing, maintaining and building great places to work. The Web site will ultimately include best practices, case studies, downloadable tools, discussion networks, events calendars, networking links and more.
CEO Forums
Regional speaker programs and discussion forums that establish a platform for CEOs and leaders to learn more about the Michigan's Next Great Companies Movement and why it makes good business sense. The initiative includes CEO-to-CEO speaking events as well as regional roundtables.
Annual State Summit
An annual statewide event focused on making the connection between Great Company Movement work practices and their connection to bottom line results. The first year will focus on Michigan Next Great Companies fundamentals. The 2008 event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12 in Ann Arbor. > > more information and registration > >
Networking Portal
A one-stop resource hub that networks existing opportunities and resources that support Michigan's current and future next great companies. Also planned are structured mentoring opportunities between best practice leaders and developing leaders. We will document best practice discussions and make them available in a variety of forums.
Recognition Programming & Support:
Two part recognition structure of --
Cataloging and creating awareness about the existing recognition programs available to every Michigan company. Also, helping companies prepare applications for the programs, as well as providing input on how they may be able to enhance their corporate culture and employee experience.
Developing a new statewide award and recognition program to celebrate businesses and leaders that have excelled in their commitment to creating and maintaining great workplaces.
MNGC Zones
Facilitating a discussion about the concept of bringing regional small/start-up employers together to create centrally located facilities where they can cost-share to offer programs and benefits frequently found in companies noted as being among the best. Examples include: wellness programs, fitness centers, on-site daycare, concierge services, food services, parking and other business and personal services.
Executive Recruitment
Developing and recruiting a resource bank of current and retired executives willing to share their expertise in creating great places to work. Activities could include:

Serving as an individual mentor to a Stage II CEO
