    Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center

    Grand Valley State University

    • Self-sustaining distributive energy center features a 30 kw Unisolar thin film photovoltaic solar roof array, a 30 kw Capstone micro turbine and a Skystream 3.7 wind turbine.

    • Michigan Offshore Wind Pilot Project is designed to measure wind conditions, seasonal ice conditions and conduct other related research on Lake Michigan on a year-round basis to aid in the development of commercial scale energy generation.

    • Operational BioMass plant has the capacity to evaluate a variety of anaerobic biodigesters and produce reduced pathogen fertilizer by-products.
