Construction Begins at Former Mall Site in Downtown Muskegon

State and local tax capture valued at $236,947 will be used by developer Sidock Properties LLC to support construction of a new two-story, mixed-use retail and commercial structure accommodating retail and restaurant space and the new commercial offices of Sidock Group Inc., an engineering firm. This will be the first new construction on what is known locally as ‘the former mall site’ in downtown Muskegon. Much of this downtown area has remained vacant for the past four years following demolition of an aging downtown mall. The 16,000 square-foot project is expected to create 30 new jobs and generate $2.6 million in private investment.
