<font face="Calibri">The USDA has released a new solicitation on its Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).  The opportunity is entitled Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements and is open until June 30, 2010.  The program provides grants for energy audits and renewable energy development assistance.  It also provides funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses to make energy efficient improvements and install renewable energy systems.  Eligible projects include retrofitting lighting or insulation, purchasing or replacing equipment with more efficiency units, and projects that produce energy from wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, hydro power and hydrogen-based sources.</font>

The U.S. Department of Labor has announced the availability of a new Web tool, the H-1B Advisor, to help ensure compliance with the requirements of the H-1B visa program.<span> </span>The advisor provides detailed information about the program’s standards and employers and workers rights and responsibilities. The tool is designed to help employers and others understand how to comply with the program, which allows for the temporary employment of foreign workers in the U.S. in certain specialty occupations.<span>  </span>By answering questions relevant to specific H-1B classified workers, the advisor helps users determine if they fulfill the requirements of the program.
