Media representatives are invited to attend an event that will introduce Oakland County companies to the Community Ventures program on Friday, Dec. 6 at 8:30 a.m. at Automation Alley in Troy.

LANSING, Mich. – Media representatives are invited to attend an event that will introduce Oakland County companies to the Community Ventures program on Friday, Dec. 6 at 8:30 a.m. at Automation Alley in Troy.

The event is co-hosted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Oakland County and the Oakland County Michigan Works! agency. The event will include presentations from companies currently participating in the program. Speakers and participants will include:

  • Michael A. Finney, president and CEO, Michigan Economic Development Corporation;
  • Frank Ervin, director-government affairs, Magna Seating of America, Inc.;
  • Lermit Diaz, general manager/CEO, SCTools;
  • Russ Schinzing, president, Electronics Remanufacturing Co.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation launched the Community Ventures program in October 2012. The program connects pre-screened unemployed residents of the targeted communities of Flint, Saginaw, Pontiac and Detroit with Michigan companies to provide new opportunities for long-term sustainable employment.
